Regulation of Caravan Rentals in Ibiza: Fines of Up to €30,000
To prevent fraud in caravan rentals and ensure compliance with current regulations, Ibiza enforces Law 5/2024 on vehicle influx control. This legislation aims to regulate the presence of vehicles on the island and protect the natural environment from potential misuse.
According to Article 16.3.c), failure to comply with the third additional provision may result in financial penalties ranging from €10,000 to €30,000. This provision establishes key restrictions on the circulation and parking of caravans and motorhomes on rural land, including:
- Parking on rural land for more than three days outside designated public parking areas.
- Camping and overnight stays in vehicles outside authorized tourist campsites.
- Parking without the required accreditation for entry and/or stay in regulated areas.
These measures aim to prevent improper parking and use of caravans in protected areas, promoting more sustainable and controlled tourism. Visitors and residents using these types of vehicles must ensure they comply with the regulations to avoid fines and contribute to the preservation of the island’s natural environment.
