The sun and light of Ibiza come to London

The great tourist attractions of Sant Josep de sa Talaia have been promoted at the World Travel Market 2022 fair

From 6 to 9 November, Ibiza showcased its many charms at the World Travel Market 2022, one of the world’s major events linked to the international travel sector, along with the ITB in Berlin and Fitur in Madrid. This is where the best professionals in the sector meet to share their experiences and gather information on trends and destinations. In short, it is the meeting point for the major investors in tourism, which is why the destinations put their best foot forward to showcase their products and services.

This is the case of Sant Josep de sa Talaia, the municipality that offers the most beautiful postcards of Ibiza, and which has taken part in this professional fair where it presented a wide range of experience options to the tourism sector of the United Kingdom and the participating countries.

Promotion of Sant Josep’s treasures

In London, Sant Josep de sa Talaia presented its campaigns “Sant Josep is Music“, “Explore” and “MICE Tourism“, as well as its brand new Caló de s’Olí Auditorium, an iconic venue with indoor and outdoor stages overlooking the sea, where artists such as Juan Perro, Amparanoia, Martirio and jazz pianist Joachim Kühn and the Levante Symphony Orchestra have already performed. A multi-purpose area enjoyed by residents, but which has also been chosen for various MICE events since its recent inauguration.

The fact is that more and more British people are choosing Sant Josep de sa Talaia as a holiday destination due to its natural treasures, its excellent services and its good value for money in places which, in addition to the undeniable importance of sun and beach, also offer cultural, sporting and culinary attractions. In addition to this, there are good air communications, with several direct flight connections, which means that increasing Sant Josep de sa Talaia’s market share in Great Britain appears to be an objective with good prospects for WTM-2022.

The most beautiful postcards of Ibiza

The WTM, which was presented on this occasion under the slogan ‘Reshaping travel together’, showcased the great treasures and the most beautiful areas of Sant Josep, through the new virtual tours that allow visitors to immerse themselves in the municipality’s emblematic sites. It will be an invitation to travel to such beautiful natural areas as Cala Bassa, Platges de Comte or Cala d’Hort; charming villages such as es Cubells, Sant Agustí des Vedrà or Sant Francesc de ses Salines, not to mention the mountain of sa Talaia, Puig d’en Serra or the peninsula of sa Caleta, some of the sites declared World Heritage Sites by UNESCO on the island of Ibiza.

But Sant Josep de sa Talaia, the largest municipality on Ibiza, also showed off its 84 kilometres of coastline, its 400 hectares of salt flats, its hiking and diving routes, the highest mountain on the island… and the delicious cuisine. The aim of the municipality was to spread the magic of this beautiful and fascinating territory by bringing its treasures to the British capital for a few days, albeit only virtually.

WTM, a long history

The World Travel Market is a fair with a long history: it first took place in 1982 at the Olympia Convention Centre and was attended by 221 exhibitors, 40 countries and 9,000 trade visitors. Since 2002, the event has been held at the ExCel Convention Centre, London’s largest exhibition centre, where more than 5,000 exhibitors from 180 countries and approximately 50,000 travel industry professionals will meet.
